Leonard Peltier's Sentence Commuted

In what is considered his final act in office, President Joe Biden commuted Leonard Peltier’s sentence to home confinement on January 20, 2025.

On February 18, Leonard is expected to return to North Dakota to the Turtle Mountain Reservation where he was born to serve the remainder of his life sentence.

We are thrilled for Leonard as the commutation means he will be able to see his friends, resume his painting and receive the medical attention he needs.

The good news was also timely for Peltier's supporters in the Los Angeles area which has been ravaged by wild fires in recent weeks.
