Last weekend the Graff Lab was host to the 1st annual Piece Fest, a music and art fest in combination with a graffiti battle for "The Chosen One," a reality TV pilot executive produced by actor David Arquette. I was there documenting the event for the Graff Lab Movie documentary that has been in production since June 2010. LA's OG Abel faced off with The Massive, who flew halfway around the world from Australia to compete in the live graffiti battle. Among the judges were pro snowboarder Danny "Dingo" Kass, actor David Faustino and musician Shifty from Crazytown. It was great to see so many people come out to the event. Saler came through, Moezart, Keve, Seze, Po3ms, and many more. http://www.flickr.com//photos/manbitesdog/sets/72157631806689760/show/
Good news. I'm excited to announce that I am a co-producer of Bomb It 2, the sequel to the hit global graffiti documentary Bomb It, directed by Jon Reiss. The documentary features street artists including Klone, KnowHope, GreatBates, Zero, Darbotz, Killer Gerbil, Bon, Alex Face, Sloke, Husk Mit Navn, Ash, Phibs, Stormie Mills, Beejoir, Vexta as Jon Reiss travels to Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tel Aviv, the Palestinian refugee camps on the West Bank, Perth, Melbourne, Copenhagen, Chicago and Austin. I'm especially excited because the experience gained in releasing Bomb It 2 is going to be invaluable as we gear up to release the Graff Lab Movie, a documentary about the unique street art of the Pico Union neighborhood in downtown LA. Graff Lab Movie is currently in the capable editing hands of Man Bites Dog Film's newest addition to the filmmaking family Aaron Mikel.
