Rory Owen Delaney and PG Banker are currently producing “To Live and Paint in LA.” The documentary film is about the Pico Union district of Los Angeles as reflected through the lens of the underground LA public art space: The Graff Lab.

Our 10 minute short documentary “Mountain Man” made its world premiere at the 2011 Santa Cruz Film Festival before screening in London’s prestigious Raindance Film Festival as well in the Culture Unplugged Film Festival. “Mountain Man” tells the story of MTR activist Larry Gibson and his struggle to protect his family’s land atop Kayford Mountain. “Mountain Man” was directed and edited by Rory Owen Delaney, produced by Wade Smith and PG Banker, who also scored the film. “Mountain Man” was awarded a Silver Sierra Award at the 2011 Yosemite Film Festival.
The feature length documentary “Toxic Soup” debuted at the 2010 Atlanta Film Festival before going on to screen at the New Jersey Film Festival, Louisville International Festival of Films, Twin Cities Film Festival, American Conservation Film Festival, West Virginia Filmmakers Festival, KahBang Film, Art and Music Festival and the 2011 Culture Unplugged Film Festival. Rory Owen Delaney served as writer, producer, director and editor of “Toxic Soup.” The film was acquired by Free Speech TV and made its national broadcast TV premiere on June 23, 2011. The film will soon be available on hulu.com.
In 2012 Man Bites Dog Films will be releasing “Rough-n-Rowdy: the Legend of the Sawmill Outlaw” in conjunction with Good Old Boy Productions. “Rough-n-Rowdy” is a feature film following Chad Meador as he fights in an amateur tough-man boxing competition in Bluefield, West Virginia. In 2007, MBD Films teamed with Meador to bring you “Method in the Mountains,” a documentary that won the Audience Choice Award at the West Virginia Filmmakers Festival.

MBD Films is adapting a feature film from Sally Denton’s nonfiction book The Bluegrass Conspiracy, which the Wall Street Journal called “a larger than real life thriller.” When Kentucky Blueblood Drew Thornton parachuted to his death in September 1985 – carrying thousands in cash and 150 pounds of cocaine – the gruesome end of his life blew open a scandal that reached to the most secret circles of the U.S. government.
In 2008 Rory Owen Delaney teamed up with director Christina Voros to write the short film “Rosy”, which screened at the Director’s Guild in Los Angeles as well as at the 2008 Florida Film Festival and the Nantucket Film Festival. “Rosy” took home a Screenwriting Craft Award at the First Run Film Festival.
While acquiring his MFA from NYU, Delaney studied under legendary screenwriter Walter Bernstein (“The Front”, “The Magnificent Seven”). Rory’s one act play “Suzie Q” was an official selection of the 2006 Festival of New Works in New York City.
Man Bites Dog Films is currently editing a short documentary about the AIDS epidemic in rural India for Reel Aid to benefit Sahaya International. Approximately two-thirds of the population parts of rural southern India are HIV positive.
