Aspiring actor / film-maker Chad Meador returns to his native West Virginia to bring Method-based acting classes to curious locals. Leading the course is Chad’s idiosynchratic mentor, Mauricio Bustamante, a master professor at the Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute in New York City. What starts as a dream to enrich the home-grown talent of Southern West Virginia soon disintegrates into a nightmare after lackluster enrollment undermines Chad’s efforts. In a search to explain his community’s indifference, Chad discovers more than he bargained for in a documentary exposing small town America’s misconceptions of the entertainment industry, and vice versa. What results is an honest portrait of a state, a town and a country boy artist dreaming of the big time.
